Role Model for Women IT Entrepreneurs
Ms Constantine Obuya - Executive Director of ACWICT

ACWICT’s Executive Director, Ms. Constantine Obuya was selected as a role model for women IT entrepreneurs in July 2007.

Ms. Obuya was selected to participate in the Empowering Women Entrepreneurs partnership Program that is run by the Trestle Group Foundation (TGF) and Voices for Innovation.

Her participation in the program culminated in TGF’s production of a short documentary titled “A glimpse of Hope” highlighting the impact that ACWICT’s programs has had on women in Kenya. The documentary which is available on http://www.trestlegroupfoundation.org/videos.php also depicts Ms. Obuya’s journey of determination that saw ACWICT grow from humble beginnings to what it is today.

At the core of the partnership program is a one-on-one relationship-based approach that connects women to women, providing mentorship, support and role models for the entrepreneurs.

The program identifies qualified women entrepreneurs in developing countries and directly connects them with business professionals in developed countries who can help them build the network, business strategies and practices that will help them create new opportunities, fulfill their potential and achieve long term success.
