Training of assistants for parliamentary assistants at ACWICT under the GGP programme

The overall goal of the Gender and Governance Programme (GGP) aims at ensuring focused, coordinated and long term support towards women’s enjoyment of human rights and participation in democratic governance in Kenya. The programme is supported by a basket fund from a group of development partners including: SIDA, Development Corporation-Ireland, DFID, The Royal Danish Embassy, The Royal Netherlands Embassy, SIDA and managed by the United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM). It is implemented by a number of organizations including consortiums of women’s organizations and alliances.

ACWICT has been an implementing partner for the two phases of the GGP between December 2004 and December 2007. ACWICT’s role within the GGP framework was to strengthen women’s participation in governance and political processes through the use of information and communication technologies (ICTs).
